[Abstract] Parotid gland tumors have a wide variety of pathologic type with similar clinical manifestations, but the treatment strategies and prognosis of them usually are markable difference. Therefore, accurate preoperative diagnosis is of great significance. MRI advanced techniques have more and more applications in differential diagnosis of parotid gland tumors. This article has reviewed application and progress of advanced MRI techniques in differentiating malignant from benign parotid gland tumors, the purpose is to enable clinicians and radiologists to understand the application of advanced MRI techniques in parotid gland tumors.
